Following the trend – Salmon Tartare

Welcome back to my little corner of the internet!

I have been seeing a lot of people making tartare lately and when I saw that at the local supermarket they have salmon for sashimi, after a few poké bowls, I decided to try something new and join the trend.

So, here’s how I have made my tartare.

1 Salmon filet (approximately 300g)

1 avocado

1 shallot

1 lemon, juice

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp chili flakes

Start by cutting the salmon into cubes. Mince the shallot. In a bowl, mix the salmon, the shallot, the lemon juice, the oil, chili flakes, salt and pepper. Leave in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

Now, peel and cut the avocado into cubes. Drizzle with a little lemon juice to prevent it from turning dark. Season with salt and pepper.

Now it’s time to assemble. If you have a round mould, you can make a nice cilinder with the avocado at the bottom and the salmon on top. Otherwise you can just arrange it as you prefer. You can decorate it with some garden cress.

Would you make this at home? Do you know other cool recipes for tartare? Let me know in the comments below.
